Ok, I have never really dealt with, or even sang off of Chartbuster. What do you folks think of their product?? I am finding some of their stuff to be a bit SGBish. Some seems to be pretty good, but other songs are terrible. I hope I am not wasting my money buying these discs.

Their country stuff has always been great. Their pop/rock stuff I've found to be hit & miss up until about 2011. Prior to that I've actually found SOME tracks that were identical musically to SGB - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man comes to mind right off hand. After that year their pop/rock stuff was much better.

Ok, so there is a ton more AFTER the E series. HMMM, actually, I am seeing Essentials 7-10, too. They are quite a bit more expensive, though.

I echo Lonnie's comments. Great country (and gospel/religious). Acceptable pop/rock, but I almost always go with some other brand if available.

My regulars prefer cb over sc when it comes to country. Clear & better arrangement.

I have a very large collection of CB discs and I find them very usable for the most part. For country, and most of the older stuff, they are my go to brand. I will have to say that in my area and demographic MM is used quite often as well (a lot of Elvis and Doo Wop in particular).

I didn't grab e7 to e10 as I was under the assumption they were not really legal.
You might want to consider grabbing the country only sets off ebay to make it a no brainer.

My Chartbuster Karaoke registration was approved by Phoenix Entertainment Partners and had Chartbuster Essentials E1 - E7. E1 - E6 were CAVS discs, but E7 was 30 CD+G disc. I just ordered E10 which is 25 CD+G discs. Two more to go! 8)

We don't know whether any particular item that CB produced was licensed or not, and we have no way of finding out. What we've decided to do is to accept them as legitimate for our purposes as long as they were produced by CB--and, as far as our rights are concerned, they are legit in that circumstance. However, that does not mean they were licensed by the publishers, and if that's something that concerns you, you should probably avoid the brand.
