Hi all, Over the past years my friends and family hire Karaoke machines for our parties. Generally 6-10 times a year. so I decided its time I put together a set up for us to use..
Ive got the hardware (enough for a personal party) but Im having troubles finding software to suit.
Ive downloaded a few and research a heap. So far I cant seem to find software that offers online streaming (like Karafun), split/dual screen & Filler music feature. thats really the main 3 features I want.

I love how easy kara fun is to use, and its got all the features I want, but not a filler option?
I'd prefer the online/streaming option for songs (like karafun) as I wouldn't know where to start to get all the Karaoke songs downloaded.
Anyone have any suggestions how I could get those few features within the 1 software. Does anyone offer it?
over christmas, I used Kara fun and just flipped between Spotify between songs to fill the music. but It was a pain in the bum because I had to be at the desk the entire time.
love to hear anyone's suggestions.
cheers. Phil

Get the KaraFun Windows player version 2 (it has filler options under playback and also fades very nice, and allows for volume adjust. I set mine at 10% volume for fillers.

KaraFun is 100% best choice for you.

Cheers!

Have you tried the demo option of PCDJ Karaoki? Digitrax offers a consumer karaoke option that is around $20/month for their current full catalog of music. For private parties this would be an option, if the software works with their consumer subscription, i'm just not sure if it does or not, you would have to contact them and ask.

I think the software that Paridignm uses will allow you to play youtube vidoes, which is fine for private parties, but i can't remember the name of it right now.

Other than that, your only other option that i can think of is karafun, which will at least project to a second display, but i'm not sure how.

huh? ... Karafun searches and plays youtube and also disks and it's free... why do you guys not see these features, they are basic and visible as soon as you try a search or even just install.

I dont want to make this a karafun thread, but give it a try, all the features you want is in karafun.

Sorry to disappoint you but karafun will not play discs. I know because I tried. Maybe version one did but version two does not.

I've been using Just Karaoke 2.0 on the laptop for 2 years. Really easy to set up and shift away from disks. Does everything that you want except can't play CDG songs off of your CD drive. Really cheap at like $50. I use it for large parties of 30 guests regularly. Has nice built in streaming for $8.99 per day with tens of thousands of songs. It's never let me down. But apparently they've had a falling-out with some of the karaoke music manufacturers (SBI, SONY?) which may affect the streaming? I sure hope not, it works great. You can stream for the fairly small fee or buy and download songs right from the program for about $2 each. At the cheap price I even bought a 2nd license and set it all up on a 2nd laptop in case my laptop crashes during a party. Obviously I recommend it.
