A big thumbs up to Open Office. I use the spreadsheet for the books and do it at home. When ready for a print, I take it to a CAP site and convert to excel (for Staples) and print them up. Open Office free and conversion at a CAP site free.

Within open office you can also do a file save as to get it to come out as an excel file. As a matter of fact there is an option within open office that allows you to default the save to Microsoft office for each of the applications within it.
