...Over the years, like many others here, I've added several cdgs from different Karaoke Manufacturers. One of those brands is Top Hits Monthly or also known as Panorama's THM. At one point, Stellar Records ended up with this brand. Without looking/counting, I think I have a little over 400 PTHM cd+g discs which also includes 6 KARAOKE CD+VIDEO discs (5 of them still wrapped in the cellophane). Not sure if I already have these same discs numbers on CD+G discs or not, would have to look.
...On a side note, when playing these discs, from a player or laptop, they are similar to the Laser Discs (lyrics overlay with "music video" in the background).
...So, my question, is there anyway to rip/convert the (.dat) files from these KARAOKE CD+VIDEO discs to MP3+G or not? Even if I still have them in CD+G discs, am still curious if they can be ripped/converted to mp3+g files. Thanks!

Do those disks mention CAVS on them? if so you can convert the .dat to mp3+g using Power SCDG Ripper

bazinga wrote: Your discs sounds more like the VCDs. Try taking one of the dat file and saving it to your desktop and change the extension to .mpg. If it's anything like a VCD, you can convert it to a mpg file and use it with any hosting program that plays mpg files. ...Tried that a few days ago and just now with same results: Static instead of music and on the screen, nothing but a colored square box inside of another different square box where the lyrics should be. ...but thanks for the tip!

Renaming .dat to mpg should work. You might need to install the proper codecs. Go to the Siglos Karaoke forum and you will see others asking what you want. Search in the forum .dat to mpeg
