You have to dress for the crowd as well. T-shirts & jeans are fine for the place I work (and most places i've ever worked), but sometimes will have some wild button up shirt. When I started working here, we used to dress up - it's not that kind of place as NO ONE dresses up 99% of the time. The way you dress can set the tone, but it can also shy people away if you are dressing over them.
