No, he's talking about the music Cache service and its hardly an unfair advantage. Their are a variety of other programs just like it offered by other producers.
This is how it works:
For $20 a month you have unlimited downloads.. that's right... DOWNLOADS. These are actual, real files, so if you loose your connection, they will still play as the files are actually stored on your hard drive.
The caveat is that these files will ONLY play on Virtual DJ, you can't record them, you can't move them to another computer, and you have to connect to the internet at least once a month, or the authorization for the files will expire.
Virtual DJ is a great program, but its very poor as a hosting program for karaoke. Its missing some major features for that application. It doesn't keep track of your rotation, it doesn't remember singer histories and key changes, it doesn't have a rotation scroll, and so on.
Hardly an unfair advantage.
I use the music service for $9.99 a month myself, and that's great thing for a Dee Jay... you can really pick up some obscure song on the fly and look like a superhero when taking song requests, and virtual DJ is great for ... well... deejaying, so that all works out well.
However, it does not translate as well for karaoke.
