Hello,

I am starting into the KJ business and I have purchased the Sweet Georgia Brown starter toolbox set. I am using Virtual DJ for my control panel. I would like to know the software to use to convert SGB into computer format so I may add these to my database?

If someone has converted SGB please tell me the software to obtain and how to convert these songs correctly.

Thank you
globalsolutions

Thanks for the help. I just noticed that this SGB toolbox set is in .cda format I think it is an audio file only. Are the karaoke tracks supposed to be in CD+G format?

If the set is superCDG then he needs to purchase roxboxs converter. WWW. roxbox.net is the website.

If you don't have the right software, any audio disc in the computer will show up as cda. You have to get the proper software that will be able to translate that into mp3+g.

How many discs in the set? If you only have 1, it is probably a SuperCDG. Otherwise you should have 12-20 discs total.

The product I bought is a 10 disc set. I might be able to upload to my cpanel 1 track from the disc so you can check it. The link I purchased from is http://www.amazon.com/Disk-Karaoke-CDG- ... LNBGQ6WT2K

I just uploaded 1 track that you can get http://sweetsunrisemedia.com/SGB/Track01.cda

I dont have the software to read this track and see if it is in the correct format. If it is good then the rest of the tracks should be good to. I then need to convert them to computer mp3 or 4 format for my hard drive. I appreciate your help on this. I will probably have more questions for another thread

Thanks everyone whom helps me tackle this

Again here is the link to get the track http://sweetsunrisemedia.com/SGB/Track01.cda

if its a ten disc set then it is CD+g and the program lonman suggested should work. If you want something even better, in my opinion, then go ahead and spend the money on power cdg burner
http://www.powerkaraoke.com/src/prod_powercdgburner.php

worth every single penny, and then some

Those are cdg discs. Again I gave you a link in the 2nd post to a free ripper that will convert them into mp3+g format. The only reason you are seeing the cda extension is because you are just trying to read the cd in Windows Explorer. Once ripped to mp3g then the karaoke software should be able to play those mp3g files.

Hi Super Poster,

Thanks for the info, I just downloaded the trial version Power CD+G Burner 2

I tried to convert a track, didn't work out for me. If you have this software try and convert a track and see if it works for you. I am using Virtual DJ so I need it converted into mp3 or 4
if it converts and plays music with lyrics, let me know

here is the link for track 1

http://sweetsunrisemedia.com/SGB/Track01.cda

Thanks Super Poster

Here is the link AGAIN for a free ripping program. Last time.

If this doesn't work then you will need to replace your cd/dvd drive in your computer as it obviously won't read the cdg subcode.

The CDA extension is audio only, it doesn't say anything about the disc other than you are trying to use it with the wrong software.
