I inherited a laser disk player (about 8 years old) and a box of about 75 laser discs. any real value to this or just find a local Karaoke fan to donate to?

Thanks!

8) Try to sell them to Athena, her husband just about has everything under the sun relating to karaoke, and the ability to store it properly. If it is a laser player it is probably older than 8 years old.

There is definitely value in the laser discs, but the value is very dependent on the individual disc. The dual-sided Pioneer and DK karaoke laser discs still go for $10-25 each on EBay, depending on the disc. Do some research there on E-Bay to figure out the total value.

What brand is the laser disc player? The standard Pioneers go for about $150-175.

Good luck!

I have abut 270 disks: 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's collections plus Standard and Christmas. All appear in excellent condition.

Player is a Samsung DV-530K

Unfortunately those discs aren't as desireable as the double sided Pioneer. You might be able to sell them for $5-10 each on ebay (brand new unopened are going for $16.99 as of now), but if you try to sell them all at once, you might be looking at a $1-3 each when broken down cost wise - start $500 for the whole lot with the player.
The player, wasn't the greatest - again, Pioneer had the market on good and desireable players. But if it still plays fine, you might eke out $100-150 for it on ebay by itself.

I’m a little late posting, but I’m with Lon on this one. Your pioneer lasers are 8” & contain only 4 songs each (8 if you include 4 multiplex tracks) hence, not as desirable as the 12” double-sided with 24 songs each (non-multiplex). Starting price of $500, player included is fair. Good luck!
