I did my usual, last Saturday night of the month, gig at my usual place at the weekend. What a brilliant night it was. I usually sing for the first hour until the regulars are oiled up enough to give it a go. Not Saturday! I started a bit late, and did two songs before people were asking for requests. We had a few non regulars in, and boy were they bombing down the beers. It was non stop all night. What an absolute thrill. Different songs sung. Two or three were really enthusiastic entertainers!!!! The place was bouncing. I even won the praise of the difficult diva, see other thread on this, where I did exactly as she wanted and drwoned her our with the loud music, much to the annoyance of the lady manager who asked me to turn the music down so the girl could be heard. The diva was thrilled with her own performance that closed the evening for me. All was wonderfully well. The best evening we've had for a while.
