I know, I know- I have often stated that I'm not a huge fan of Stellar's "generic" sounding tracks. However, they ARE all useable- not great, not bad...useable.
Re-visiting their site reminds me that they ARE customer oriented, they DO still produce in CD+G format (mine)- as well as others, and they still do so in a timely manner.
While I do like Sybersound's quality better, and they do produce quickly, there simply aren't ENOUGH tracks put out.
For this reason I think I will have to give them another look-see....

I haven't looked at Stellar in over 1 year now (since about December of 2011)... the reason being, they haven't been producing mainstream music anymore... just a lot of fluff. I especially used to like them for their Country Music until they started doing that (and I wasn't recognizing the songs they were putting out as versus what I was hearing on the radio). I haven't even looked at what their monthly selections have been since about May of 2012.
That being said, about 6 months before I stopped using them, I was having a problem with their discs. They had stopped pressing discs, and were making burns instead. As a result of the burns being made at a high speed, my JVC 3-Tray was having a problem reading the index when loading the disc into the tray, and it would not play the song tracks selected unless I changed the mode on my machine from single play to continuous (the difference being, my machine would automatically stop when it finished playing the track selected as versus going to the next song). Customer Service was very good about helping me deal with the problem. I would send them my problem discs, and they would reburn them for me at a slower speed. According to Customer Service, this seemed to be a problem unique to the JVC machine, and not the RSQ machine (which really is the same machine). I eventually figured out my own work-around, where I would burn a copy of the entire disc myself, by selecting each individual track (song by song) instead of copying the entire disc all at once.

Stellar hasn't produced anything really worth buying in OVER a year now. A handful in about a year in a half that are being used somewhat.

I stopped my auto-ship with them in July of last year. I still keep an eye on what they release but Have not bought anything from them since July 2012.

...I haven't purchased anything from Stellar since Oct. 2011. That's when I made a rather large "Fill In The PHM Gap" purchase. Really wish they would re-release the Top Hits Monthly Tracks.
...I must say, I've also been rather surprised by the Quality of Sybersound/Party Time Tracks. Actually went out and purchased some of their Party Pack Sets. Trying to replace some of those "fluff" sets.
...Might look at Stellar again!

You folks have brought some serious issues to the table. I never planned on a subscription, but I guess I will have to check each disc carefully before buying- no need for pure fluff. Burned rather than pressed kind of bites too. I guess I'll have to work on a "need only" basis - If Sybersound doesn't have it out, Stellar will simply be an alternative IF they have it out.. Appreciate the feedback..

Where are you folks finding party tyme/sybersound? Is there somewhere to get current discs? All the stuff I see is outdated.

I haven't seen anything from Party Tyme that I haven't already got from other manus as far as 'new' releases. They really are not on the ball - worse than SC used to be in that respect.

ok....so I took a second look. It looks as if they have improved somewhat, however , not enough yet for me to return. Will take another look in a year or so.

I find them mostly at K-mart, but they are usually inthe music section of any decent size department store.
Yeah, others put out more quickly (though they are nowhere NEAR as slow as SC was), but not of the same quality. That Quick Hits/Fastrax/Singers' Solution/whatever's next label doesn't come close, and in my opinion, neither does ASK.

But it will tell us if buying a better version is warranted in the first place. ASK versions are just fine for new releases. They come out in a very timely manner - not after the radio and mainstream media has already dropped them and everyone is bored with them. So if people want to sing them, I will know if I need to get a better version or not - plus I can get the exact songs I need.

Same reason new KJs used to start out with SGB, and now QH/FT/SS/whatever.
Nothing wrong with that at all. Thing is, in my case I no longer buy something just because it comes out. I need a few people to request it first- say, 3. I'm not in that big a hurry.
As stated earlier, I've already wasted enough money on flash-then-die music. I kind of like waiting to see if it has sticking power or not.
Just the way I do it, others' mileage may vary....

Except the difference is SGB is more of a core library that would get sung more often so would make sense to have a good core to begin with IMO instead of buying something twice. The new radio hits are going to be sporadic (if at all) so the best aren't going to be needed and if those new songs that do get sung get complaints, I will replace them. Only reason I buy the new stuff now when it comes out (not my normal style) is just to say I do keep up - no other place around here hardly updates at all. They are cheap enough and sometimes it pays off. The high majority of my buys are still requested songs only.
