Just curious what y'all consider the best "party" songs for a male singer (that aren't to high in range) to get a crowd up and going. Brown Eyed Girl, Sweet Home Alabama, Just a Gigalo, etc...

Good question. Good topic. I'm stuck with pretty good baratone but it limits me for doing the really good "get down" stuff and prohibits a lot of vocal acrobatics that usually gets a crowd going.
I stay with what I do well, mostly Sinatra, the more upbeat stuff.
I've Got The World On A String.

I've Gotta Be Me
For Once In My Life
Luck Be A Lady
The Lady Is A Tramp
Learnin' The Blues
The List gets quite long, but you get the idea.

Around here, David Allan Coe's "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" usually works, "Sweet Home Chicago" by the Blues Brothers is good, Toby Keith's "Who's Your Daddy" is a sure bet, and then there's my standard answer to the usual "What Should I Sing" question--The Rodeo song! Those who know it love it, and those who don't, will!

I think a lot depends on the clientel. The suggestions already made are popular for sure and I'd agree with them for most typical venues. I get a lot of foreigners to my Thursday gig, and in addition to My Way, Sweet Caroline, NYNY, Summer Nights, Love Shack, You've Lost that Loving Feeling and so on, I notice they really like "One" by U2. Must be a European thing as I can't recall it getting much use anywhere else I work or drop by on off nights. The whole crowd sings these songs throughout the bar. It's not normal, but it is fun for all.
I just ordered CB's Mitch Miller compilation and am looking to see if that gets some use from some of the older folks I come across earlier in the evening or at private parties.

Follow Me's one I do a lot. Every now and again I can get my girlfriend to help me with Picture, and both here and my sister-in-law to help with Mustang Sally. Never thought of Johnny B. Goode though. I'll try that one and see how it works out. I just ordered "In America" by Charlie Daniels Band. Here in a military town, I'm betting it'll be a hit. If y'all think of any more, throw 'em out to me.
