Any suggestions for someone looking to get into the business fresh? I've got plenty of PA equipment from my band days, along with some wonderful connections to book some gigs, but it seems pretty cost prohibitive to purchase a song library. If I decide to do this, I want to have a fairly impressive collection of songs, rom the classics to all the new stuff. Any ideas? I've already learned a bunch from just lurking on this site, but I haven't seen this subject brought up. Thanks.

your song selection IS your show.  it will make or break you in karaoke.  if folks can't sing the songs they want to, they will not come back.  it is also the most expensive part of your show.  amps, mics, lights (if you use them) speakers, monitor, sound board, etc is all secondary if you don't have a good selectoin of decent to good karaoke tracks!

If I were to go with a new system, the Sound Choice Foundation 1 & 2, all 5 Bricks & then supplement with PHM & THM from 2000 on to today to get a good core.
