Okay, so we are using Winamp with AutOKdj and we are doing a "theme" show--South Pacific, to be exact. I want to download some songs from iTunes to my handy-dandy iPod and toss them on the system for filler. Yes, we still use filler music, and no, it is not up for discussion in this thread.

I have just begun playing with it at home, but Winamp doesn't acknowledge the existence of the m4p files on my PC--kind of like an ex-boyfriend.

Is there a plug-in?
Should I convert the files, and can I do it in Audiograbber or something else?
Should I spend more time trying to figure it out because it is a stupidly easy fix?

The show is tomorrow night and I will just die if I cannot play Bali H'ai and Girl from Ipanema.   LMAO

yeah I had to pause when I ran into some music I had in MP4 format but luckily the software I use recognizes and plays mp4 music and karaoke files (zipped too)... I did have to use a converter though when I switched to a machine that did not have the software I used installed... good luck...

Hey there. If you put those songs into your Itunes player, then hit advance at the top, there is a option to convert to MP3. Under the original song will be the MP3 version.
I ran into this problem a few days ago and that worked well.

It is my understanding that the process you eluded to will only work with non-protected m4p songs. The one sure way I know of (and this also works for protected wma files ) is to burn the songs to an audio cd and then rerip them as mp3s using a program like Audiograbber.
