I personally never cared for extra monitors for the audience to be able to see the lyrics.... Besides the occational mess up by the singer, there is the inevitable misprint by the disc maker....I hate for my singer to look like they've messed up when they sing the right words instead of what is printed. But you always get a non-singer wanting to point out that it was "sung wrong".

Also, I love it when my singers put their own personality and/or spin on the song....

All the better that it can be seen. Several of the songs I do have the wrong lyrics, or I do them just a bit differently. I wouldn't care if someone did question me -- but it has never happened. I haven't done enough KJ gigs to have people ping me about what singers do -- does that even happen?

Heck, it doesn't matter if you miss a word or two. If you take a missed phrase in stride, 9 times out of 10 no one notices. Heck, I repeated a whole verse once and got a big round of applause -- I don't think anyone noticed.

I sang tonight at a place that had a big screen behind the singer, a small one in front -- and one to the side. Perfect, and I had a blast and sang well.

That UT is the University of Tennessee Right?  I am a big UT Vol Fan.

On the subject of extra monitors the times that I could have hooked up to a secound monitor. I did not have a splitter or a long video component cord. I have found a splitter available at Radio Shack but the longest cord I can find is 9' and I would need about 20'. My cord to the monitor now is 2-6 ft cords hooked together which is barely long enough. Any idea where longer cords might be found?

Jim
