Better Yet,  Make it to G Gruhn Guitars in TN.   I think that'd either drain my last penny, get me arrested for theft, or all of the above..  Assuming I don't befriend the guy and get a job

I went to a couple when I was in Tennessee (Nashville)... but my time there was such a blur, I can't even begin to recall what ones it would have been.



Yeah, that would be the life, huh? Working (getting PAID) to deal with instruments all day? It would never in a million years work for ME though... they'd be yelling at me all the time.. "Charmin, put the guitar DOWN and get over here and help this customer, or you're fired".  LMAO

oh yeah, like the 1961 SG style Les Paul my neighbor wanted to sell me, or I think it was back in 1976 when I turned down the Anniversary edition Les Paul brand new for something like $425. Ah yes, if we knew then. When I was growing up seems like everybody had a Gibson something or other stashed under their bed because everybody knew somebody that worked there.

Well if you ever do get brave, I'm pretty sure you could get into the Heritage factory and see how they do it. I actually was able to buy a prototype out of the factory about ten years back, it's nice knowing you have the only one ever made, even if nobody else knows what the hex it is.

Yes, I'll get that brave. I am determined to make myself fly SOMEwhere... and since I'll be taking leap (or.. hopefully NOT having to take a leap in the process, haha) I guess I should make it somewhere worthwhile.

Your adventure sounds very cool. Do you have pics? (or.. do you still have the guitar?)

That would be a yes to both questions, I'll have to look around and see where I put the pics of it, got to be on here somewhere. No leaping and airplanes just aren't a good combination. I'll confess, this kid doesn't fly either

Another airplane chicken? Haha, I thought my condition was rare... I'm the ONLY one in my immediate family who's never flown. But, I want to do it just cause I don't like to be afraid of something for no reason. So I'm gonna make myself do it... then, if I fly again after that or not, well, we'll see.



Well, we'll see. I have a feeling the one flight I choose will be the ONLY flight I ever go on... and I've made a promise to someone that the day I fly it will be to see him. So, my option may have to be Virginia Beach:)

Or, Branson Missouri.

Or, maybe Texas.

Or, heck, possibly Nashville.

Or, maybe now Kalamazoo.

Or, maybe Disneyland. (planning a trip there next spring, would be nice to not DRIVE all that way again)

Or, maybe Mexico.

Or, maybe just to Seattle. (short flight, but I would have FLOWN anyhow.. that would be a chicken way out of my dilemna)

I may just have to wait and meet KS people the day we have a KS get together somewhere on the west coast:)

But, like I said, we'll see.

I don't believe in witchcraft nor sorcery nor voodoo.... and a doll of ME could not be made anyhow... they broke the mold when I was born... I simply can't be replicated:) So stick those pins away, and try another form of bribery (like a good lookin' male you'll bring to the get together for me).... cause I aint skeered of no pins in no dollie:)

I'd probably end up getting fired for typing in here after I got bored with the guitars .  If you've been the Nashville you've seen more american music culture than I have Charmin..  Of course living outside of CT you see more american music culture than I now see .

Yeah Londonlive,  the 61, 62 white and TV yellow SG LP around the lawsuit period that started the single-cutaway LP with the maestro vibrola (not sure if it was side-pull or not)  Nice guitar.  I don't have one  :(

Quite honestly LondonLive,  I turned down MOST guitars in and before the mid-70's that were over 400. The memorable mistakes I made were 1972,  Ash Natural Tele with original bridge PU, and replaced neck PU with a 50's gibby HB wired so ALL three toggle positions were strong (not the usual one weak position with the pre tele customs revised HB neck mods... This was a 61 tele (I think).  I passed on it because my friend recinded on the original 100 bucks after buying his LP deluxe and Pro reverb and tried for 125.   1960's Paisley fender telecaster blue paisely bass (was that tele of P bass ?  I think tele) 50 bucks (passed because the neck was too thick).  Fender 59 P bass,  Passed in 70's for 100 bucks because I didn't have the cash.  60's Gold Strat rewired, passed because 200 was too high for ugly gold... three 60's SG's at 50 each... They were chipped and I didn't like the cherry finish chipped.  Les Paul Low impedance personal... passed for 150 dollars because it sounded weak thru a standard amp.. Gibson Citation 400 dollars,  passed because it was rediculously costly in 1976, as was the Gretsch White Falcon and Country gentlmen (CG was 300, and white falcon was 800, which was rediculous even though around 73 1000 bucks put the white falcon at among the costliest guitars (but of course it was stereo) HAHA. Gibson Barney Kessel, tag sale item.. passed for 75 bucks in mid 70's because I was afraid the pickups might not work, couldn't plug it in grandparents had no amp it belonged to a kid and they didn't know what it was.. 335's in the mid 70's were a dime a dozen as were LP's if I was willing to pay over 300.. Strats were too for over 200.  I threw my original Dan Electro convertable in my college dumpster because It sucked and was formica.. Mosrites, Travis Bean,  guitars were a dime a dozen too.. I was never much into acoustic so I never was in the market.. But I loved the black white keys and white black keys on the vox panther, and the candy colored farfisa organs..

Ah yes, that be the beast, I still know the guy that has one, as a matter of fact it was downstairs in the studio just a few weeks ago, but guess what, he doesn't want to sell it anymore, go figure. It still plays sweet though. I remember when he was trying to sell it to me back in the 70's, he'd leave it at my house and I'd just get to play it, maybe thats why I didn't buy it, hex I got to play it anyway. I remember learning how to play "One of the boys" by Mott The Hopple On that rascal.

BTW,  I'd be quite happy visiting the Kalamazoo Heritage plant.  I wouldn't even need accomodations, I'd move into the dumpster catching scraps for a few days. I'm easy like that

If you think you might find yourself out this way just give me a heads up, I'm pretty sure I could get you the deluxe tour. I'll even find out if they have the 10, 20 or 30 yard dumpsters.  LOL.

I'd love to visit Michigan.  I've never been that far west (believe it or not).  To me West Coast is the Hudson River. East coast, Eastern Canada, yep.. But truth be known,  I have issues flying too..  Believe it or not.. I Kappy have quirks !     Yes,  one would never know.. But I have a touch if instability (jaws drop in the room).. (Scared xitless of flying too).. Have probs even traveling much now.. I really ran into probs being on the road and I wish that wasn't the case. I really haven't seen much of our country.. Made it out to Niagra falls once... Jamestown NY area (Chauttaugua) but when I asked where "The Great Wall" was, people looked at my funny.
