Phill,
Thanks it's a trainwreck for me to do polls here.. Your Christmas Gift is coming!
Actually I use more than the Audix OM-6, Audix OM-5, & Audix Fusion F-50 vocal mics in my systems
I also use the AT Wireless mics.. I just have recieved on Eval to purchase the AT 4000 series and am using it in my Systems 1,2,& 3 but my personal unit and systems 4 & 5 all use Audix OM-5's with the AKG
WMS-40 Snap-on wireless each with a different Frequency.. (make sure you get the 2 different freq's when buying these) but my partner in Tucson is Really Pushing me to go to a Sennheiser Wireless System on the #1 system. I still like the AT sound.
Apples & Oranges...

In the studio I use the standard sm57 to mike guitars and snare drums. For vocals and karaoke I have been using my sm58s and a Beta 58A. I recently purchased a Marshall v67g condenser mike. I can't wait to use it on my next recording victim!!

Avalon you are not too far off from what what we have in nashville... aren't those marshall's nice ... as a gag i recorded 3 tracks with an OM-6 and a tube mic modeling pre-amp.. i was shocked how it sounded.. my producer is doing flips and is thinking i had a AT-C-4000 tube mic here he wouldn't stop laughing for an hour when he found out what i did.. he nobody would believe it!! When it releases i challenge anyone to find the 3 tracks.. a 26 yr industry pro couldn't even find it..

We use different mics a Shure 58 (I don't like it), Sennheiser (love it), Samson (ok) Apex850 (Yorkville brand use the most) and audioTechnics wireless (v good).
This poll should allow more than one answer as many of us may use more than one brand.

That was original the intention but i don't think the poll system on this site allows it.. darn huh?
I guess the comments will have to do.

Brian, I haven't got to try my new gold (it sure is purdy) condenser on a studio client yet. Duplication and Karaoke seem to be saving my butt this month. Did you use three mikes on the same performance or record three seperate takes? Last month I had some nuts who QUADRUPLE tracked lead vocals and had a total of six guitar tracks on some songs. On tracks that I felt were unnecessary i just pulled them down in the mix and put autopan on them. The album came out really thick and has an interesting sound. I got paid pretty good and got a commitment from a local mag editor to review the album that we spent a month on (favorably, of course). I wish I had the v57g available for those takes. I guess I'll never know

3 individual cuts containing 3 takes each. tracking in new mexico for a label in Nashville doesn't leave alot of options for having the Producer tell ya the way he wants it done or him being here to do it himself. But after 6 months of sitting over his sholder watching i think i have learned very fast by tossing 20 songs in the trash and having to re-do them again..
IN ANOTHER KEY! yes, it was my fault.. never leave your equipment on during a thunderstorm UPS's, Surge protection or not! things tend to get wiped out if you fail to turn off the power supplies...
yes we alll are human! and I call myself an audio engineer.. but it did get replaced. and I still have my j.o.b. life is great huh?

I use Shure SM 58's. I used them for years in bands, and have found them to be very reliable and almost industructable.
