Now...after reading this again, as it was a while back. I am of the opinion they are talking Detroit casinos, but ALL private clubs and non indian casinos. I will ask at the casino up here the first chance i get. But here is the general idea. The amendment to exempt detroit casinos, priviate clubs, and places with liquor licenses has already failed, as i said it did. It's going to pass, they expect it to go through by spring...

California has been non smoking for about 10 years now.  At first a lot of bars simply ignored it, but as time went on more and more of them became compliant.  I think it's only enforced by people making complaints, I don't think there was ever a police task force on the hunt for indoor smoking.

It takes a little time to adjust, but people do.  Granted, we don't have to step outside into freezing cold temperatures to smoke in January, so that might have made the adjustment easier.

I thought "at first" gaming clubs, and bars in CA were exempt from the statewide ban.
