Sorry, I didn't notice that you had posted the same "mixer" earlier.

You made a very wise decision by heeding the advice of the regulars on this board.  I'm glad that you are happy with your real mixer.

Parts Express didn't have those Behringer mics, so I'll look elsewhere.  The Shure PG48 sure sounds good though.

Stick with that for now -- the XM8500 won't be that much of an improvement. (Actually I have two of those I will test soon, and I will try to remember to update this with results compared to the industry-standard Shure SM58, which some people say the XM8500 is as good as.)

I have tested the XM8500 now, and while I don't like them quite as much as the SM58 for my voice, bear in mind I don't like the Beta 58 as much for my voice either. The XM8500 is quite a good mic, but it has just a little more handling noise than the 58.

It still is better from a sound and handling noise standpoint than a PG48 or PG58, and blows away all the cheap Nady and Audio Technica mics I have seen people use. I think the XM8500 is about the best mic you are going to find without spending the $100 for a 58 or a Sennheiser 835. And it is only $20.
