Ok this old man needs  some good advise and best wishes. I spent the 4th over at the farm in Wellington co and explained the new format  of doing a good restaurant and doing Dj for the dinner crowd at 7:30  and then later full karaoke. He said  you need to talk to the hitching post in Cheyenne They have the best steak house and restaurant in town and after hours have trouble keeping a crowd.. He has become very good friends with a back bar mngr who actually goes to his floral shop in co and parties there..

So I went up today after lunch. I did my homework and quizzed employess (waitresses semi- mngrs etc) and they said after frontier days they will be looking for something like this!! I"m pumped!! The food and beverage mngr was off property at lunch so I didnt consult with him. I did pitch the caterer mngr and gave a presentation which she received with very positive results.. I did explain I have the best system and I team with a professional host.

Ok here is the question and I need some advise from all on here...When we do get a second consult with the proper mngr some ideas?  I didnt quote a price but I did say I dont know the going rates up here but I am looking for a basic price with 2 $25 dollar bar tabs for a good meal cokes and occasionally buying a regular a drink.

I have a notion of $250, the tabs and rooms with the idea when we start packing out, we get increases accordingly... Am I too cheap?

hitching post

Go for it.  Always ask what you feel you're worth.  You can always negotiate.

I agree with kellyoke! I also think you're in a pretty good ball park price wise. But I'd get the price you want to start with- because unless it's in a written contract- it is VERY hard to get them to raise your pay. Consider this - you could do all the hard work of building their crowd and once it takes off and you ask for the raise- they could bring in someone cheaper who already had YOUR crowd. Not saying they WOULD- but it has happened to me! (BTW- I started another show on the same night 2 blocks away and within 2 weeks they had tumbleweeds blowing through that place.) They brought me back after my contract with their competition expired at a 30% raise. So definitely ask what you are worth and don't let anyone push you around! best of luck!

Paula

Karyoker - Woo Hoo nice gig !
I trust in your abilities to nail this one - I do agree though with shoot a little higher in price than you think you can always negotiate as Kelly said.

Good Luck

I love you guys I have done big clubs including Doug Kershaws Blue Bayou here next to Greeley. But this gig would be the reason I have spent so much money and put put  blood sweat and tears into a system...

Make certain you don't go into the swimming pool while holding onto anything that's plugged into an AC wall outlet !
