Ok I am looking for a base player that I can use now and perhaps add a PA/Mixer onto later.  This will be strictly for home use.  I was looking at the RSQ 500E with a couple of UHF Mics to start ( http://www.dtskaraoke.com/iduhwimi.html ).  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I dont know about the microphones, but I have an RSQ E500 brand new in the box for sale.  I had an issue with my first RSQ E500 and have since moved on to a more extravagant unit.  I personally used a Peavey PVi2 microphone with my player but it sounded muddy.  This is a case with running the mic throught the player and not the quality of the mic.  Just dont be disappointed when it doesnt sound good.  I dont care how good the mic you get is, it will not sound good.  Just keep that in mind.  Again if you are interested you can PM me for further information.

I took a look at the Idolpro site and I might look into one of their amplifiers as they look a lot like the amplifier I got from CAVS which was a great unit, best thing CAVS ever built. I'd look at their players as well.   www.idolpro.com
Although alot of the stuff on that site looks a lot like CAVS stuff.

The more I read the more input that I get that the RSQ machine is no good.  Is a CAVS Machine a better option?  The only machines I can find are RSQ, VOCOPRO, CAVS and RJ TECH.

yeah, the old standards of RSQ/JVC players are gone. Personally, I'd pick up a 222 player, or a triple tray on Ebay if you could find them! I have two of the gold JVC triple trays, and absolutely love them. RSQ made a dvd karaoke player called the 505 and I had good luck with that one. Mediacloq discs didn't play in mine, but the updated chip ones do.

Irritates me that RSQ had some good winners, and discontinued them!

That's yet another reason I went computer based... there just aren't good quality players out there. I hear problems with ALL the ones you mentioned!
