I need to know how many spaces a rackmounted JVC 303/RSQ 333 takes up. I posted this question in the tech forum earlier in the week and got no responces, but I know at least 9-10 of yall that have this player rackmounted. I can see that the rackmount itself only takes 2 spaces, but I think that the player is larger than it's rackmount hardware, so I suspect it takes up at least 3 spaces if not 4.

Can someone answer this question? Thanks!

What is the actual hgt measurement of the JVC?   Ive rackmounted the dfx12 and a few d cd drives The cd drives are actually 1 rack space high.. Some racks like the Gemini (plywood) you can remount the rails up or down and gain 1/4 - 1/2" for those units that are not designed for racks.

Give me some measurements and check the possibility of remounting the rails and we will go from there..

Sorry, dont know the product.

1u = 1.75", 2u = 3.5" etc.

It seems that you would need to make or buy some brackets.

You need to take the feet off the unit and get the rails that screw on to the side of the unit to make it 2 rack spaces. I only had a drawer rack mine requires 3 rack spaces to fit.

Isn't 3 rack spaces 5.25 inches ?   Specs on the RSQ-MV-333 state it's 5 inches in height, but isn't the JVC unit also made in a model not as high as the RSQ 3 tray ?
A few in here actually did adapt the 333 and 2222 units to rack... It required a certain adaptation such as brackets and the addition of some type tray.

After a liftime of maintaing various radar, broadcast, and communication systems when somebody mentions rack this is what pops in mind. I have literally mounted about every type of e;ectronic equpt in the standard 19" rack.  The second pic is the current scope I use It is a 100Mhz dual trace. When I want know what audio hum or video actually is this is what I use.

I still get visions of the Toronto space needle Mr October posted someplace. :headscratch:  Of course posts of this nature also cost me a certain amount of "Love in the tech forum" as well.

Over here there are alot of "garage" bars where people and their neighbors sit out in the garage and drink beer.  They are tired of all the public harrassment..  I was at an old buddy's one night and he was showing me a new table saw he got.. This scope was buried in about 3" of sawdust.. Wats that?  Oh thats just a 100Mhz dual trace scope.. All of a sudden I sobered up a little LOL  I carefully brushed it off with a paint brush.. How much u want for it? Oh I'd take $20 In 5 minutes it was n the back of my van..  LOL

Some here still dont have a sense of humor.. There is a time to think and a time to laugh and know when to do both...

I've been making a concerted effort lately to laugh harder (than I think), the
"thinking" part was literally killing me, hence so much time playing online.. Funny thing is, with age it's starting to get VERY easy to transcend "thinking" !   At first it was tough to give up my rigidity and let go of the "stinking thinking",  Now I've transcended the thinking part, and I'm currently left with my stinking sense of humor, and an increasing area of air between my ears...Quite honestly, it's better this way !  I'm just getting sick of walking into things, and leaving stores without my wallet and groceries, and purchased items. Oh $hit,  another thing I forgot,  I went out to start up the car and warm it three hours ago... Hope there's still gas left in the tank... Dang  :(
