Thank you one and all for, as usual, your wonderful input. There's nothing left to add to this thread unless someone comes up with a way for me to play those disks on my computer (with PowerKaraoke or something free) and, eventually add them to my hard drive (with something that is free).

I can't speak for the other programs, but Microstudio is not expensive and well worth it if you need to make back ups, compilations or whatever.

I don't know about Microstudio. I just found the website and it is definitely familiar to me. I downloaded something from there earlier this year,
Whatever I downloaded took over my computer. I had a hard time getting it to boot after that and once I got back on, the same thing happened all over again. When I got back in control once more, I uninstalled the program. I haven't had a problem since.
Any ideas regarding my experience? I wouldn't mind trying the product (which never actually happened)

Never heard of their products (MTU) trying to take over the computer. I've been using their products for a couple years now & download new versions all the time without incident.

Lonman, if I get Microstudio (I already have nero & clone) will I be able to put it on more than one PC? I have several discs/versions for nero so I can put it anywhere. Clone is just on my "gig PC" and I can't use it elsewhere.

Most of these paid programs - except for the freebies, which won't copy the MediaCloq discs - are only useable on 1 or 2 machines. I know MTU Hoster can be registered on 2 machines so I am assuming their Microstudio can be set up on 2 machines as well.

I thank you all. I will look into Microstudio. At least one person, BD, indicated reservations with Clone. It's always worked well for me. Is there something about Clone we all should be aware of the is not commonly known?

I have never had any luck with Mediacloq protection on any version of Microstudio to date.
Hey Marty....what are you doing to be able to process these tracks with Microstudio?

When I had an hp8100 I was able to get a couple of discs that I own with the mediacloq on it copied no problem. using microstudio. It was the only program that they would work with.

If y'all are trying to copy the disks, or rip them to hd then Power CD+G burner will copy most disks quickly. It will do most SC disks. I occasionally see one that has trouble, but that may just be because the disk is in bad shape.

I believe you can download a free trial and give it a shot.
