I use craigslist all the time. Absolutely love that site.

The one for Portland Oregon is really good. Kansas City's is getting more and more popular...

Matt,  I think something came up in the past within KS regarding an internal site "trader, exchange, sale or barter" area for Karaoke related equipment. Some have exchanged items in here of course, (or at least given them away) and while I know advertising isn't allowed according to site TOS,  Is there a reason KS doesn't have, or has agreed to have a "hardware exchange" area ?  Do you recall if this has come up in the past regarding pros & cons ?  Software I can see might get nasty, (too many posts ending up)

"I bought ____ from ____ and he's pirating programs off've of____ to sell them in here, BE CAREFUL". LOL

I can understand the site not wanting that in here. Perhaps they don't wish to feel put in the middle of transaction disputes either, not sure...  Just think it could be a fun thing. (I guess it could end up a nightmare too)

Steven,
My worry with the russians are with what they are doing in this country.
Anyway Its 3:25 am.
Enjoyed tonight.

It's like Sting's song "The Russians love their children too".

Can you blame some of the fathers for trying to retrieve their daughters (and wives) some of we westerners mail-order ?   They are trying to reunite with their family.  Always view the description extremely carefully when purchasing a sexlife on Ebay too !  A Russian bride being sold on a Dutch auction is usually a sign somethings not right !  (also,  if she excedes UPS limits and must be flatbed shipped on a "wide load" truck, well, I won't go there)

From a brief look, I dont think it can touch ebay.
I will spend a bit of time on it tomorrow.

Have a good look at it and then come back.

Although the site is up, it's dormant.
Nothing came up in any search.

We have something over here called Loot.
It is an Items for sale & wanted paper. It is also online. Popular.

Now,  For those that aren't aware of these things.  "rachal1084 (4)" would not be the smartest choice of auctions to bid on for the prospective buyer  LOL

I've bought many things from eBay (including a NIB Shure sm58 mic lol). The only thing I felt wasn't worth the money was an early e-book purchase, but I only paid maybe $5 for it.
You absolutely have to read every word in the auction ad, and definitely e-mail the seller beforehand with any questions.
It can take time and discipline to find the good buys, but they're out there.
Jerry, this reminds me of the publishers clearing house letters they used to send everybody. In tiny letters it says "if your name is picked, then we can say" and then in huge type it says "Jerry Has Just Won $15 Million!!!" Would you believe some stupid people actually quit their jobs when they got those letters???? rofl

If I hadn't already won,  I'd still be working.  I guess all that money takes a long time to arrive.  I'm still waiting.

Wasnt me mate. I couldnt afford the negative feedback.
Incidently, the brevious sale was for £6k.
Seems like the seller just lost a popularity contest

Subject: Re: Message from eBay Member Regarding Item #110078941178

I have been on the forum and everyone says I should log a dispute.
They mentioned delaying tactics.
I will file a dispute unless you give me a return address
and agree to refund £11.
You have 24 hours to confirm you will do so else the dispute goes ahead.

Item #110078941178
03-Feb-07 Item arrived.

The following information is stored on ebay's server.

Hi mate, Not even going to try and plug the laptop into this replicator.
The port is physically damaged.
Jerry.

03-Feb-07 Recieved
it wasnt damaged when i sent it
you will have to send it back

03-Feb-07 Sent
It will have been damaged before it was sent but unless you know what to look for, you wouldnt spot it.
You might be able to dock the laptop a dozen times before it fails.
Also are there any ebay procedures, I mean they would want comission.
Regards
Jerry.

03-Feb-07 Recieved
just use it till it fails, no point looking for things to fail

03-Feb-07 Sent
It not that...
It could fail and take down the laptop.
You should know that,
you appear to work for a computer repair firm.

03-Feb-07 Recieved
you have to post back at your cost
then you get refund

03-Feb-07 Sent
Also how does it work...
I mean I dont want to spend £6 on postage to get £5 back.
Jerry

03-Feb-07 Recieved
i already get charged ebay fees, plus percentage of final price, prob about £1

03-Feb-07 Sent
Hi, I have just found out that you are required to refund £11.
Please confirm that you are agreeable to that and I will put it in the post.
Also do I need to tell ebay anything.
Otherwise I assume they will want comission from you.
Regards
Jerry.

06-Feb-07 Sent
Would you please confirm that you will refund £11 on the port replicator.
Thanks
Jerry

06-Feb-07 Recieved
yes by echeque

08-Feb-07 Sent
Thanks mate,
I have someone who has seen it and may want it.
I have pointed the damage to the docking port, and the possibility of damage to his system.
He says he only needs to dock it once, permanently, so he has use of the kb, mouse & USB ports. He will let me know tomorrow.

09-Feb-07 Sent
Hi. item is going back to you.
Wouldnt power up.
What is your address.
Jerry

12-Feb-07 Sent
Will you please send me your address to ship the replicator to.
Jerry

12-Feb-07 Recieved
said in my listing return within 7 days

12-Feb-07 Sent
Not possible if you dont give me a return address.
Do I need to raise a dispute.

12-Feb-07 Recieved

under won items

Well I dont have Selling manager function, so I wasnt able to look.

It would be interesting to see experiances that you have had on ebay.

Selling is getting tough because of all the scams and zero rated bidders being allowed to bid without qualifications. There is no way to filter 0 raters, and Ebay doesn't care. This is particularly a problem when dealing with electronics. All you can do is just accept PayPal and require that all bidders have a PayPal account and only ship to confirmed addresses.

A week ago I posted a dvd player for sell, and yep it was won by a scammer from Nigeria who was bidding on all sorts of other stuff. He must have bid on $10K or $20 in merchandise in just a few days. I contacted Ebay - they killed his account. Still that kind of stuff is a pain in the (@$%&#!).
