Diction really is just a fancy term for "Style of saying something", or how a verse is said in a poetic sense.  Little more, but in a rock or folk sense, articulate speech presentation goes out the window much of the time; As to whether this should or should not be, doesn't matter I suppose. Bob Dylan and Arlo Guthrie wouldn't have been ideal choices for making CEO type presentations, but despite sloppy diction (according to many) their styles have been broadcasted to the public ear more than likely ANY executive.  Depending on music genre, the poet being articulate often doesn't matter. So assuming diction means "listen closely to the artist you are trying to cover for nuance",  I agree.

Yep,  There're many Mondegreens.  That was Hendrix big one, Creedence had a biggy too.  "There's a bathroom on the right", Elton John in Honky Cat  "pissing in the stream"..

This is statistics according to one site (not sure how credible it is) but the fact that Manfred Mann is high on the list makes A LOT of sense !
