Good Mornin' ladies and gentleman, boys and all the funky girls!
I run a show in St. Paul, MN at a bowling alley a few nights a week, and they named me "MC Louis". Louis is my first name. I don't refer to myself as that during the shows, but people see the banner, and they shout out to me "MC Louis!". I just call myself Louis during the show.
Anyway, I got into the business being a customer for another man named Romie at another bar. We hit it off, and he showed me how to do it. Two weeks later I was covering for him on some nights when he wanted off. He said I was a natural crowd entertainer. The owner of the company of the equipment we were using wanted me to do my own show at another location. I've been doing it since Apr 2006 there.

We have a very nice following of regulars who come see my show, and I treat all of them like the true superstars that they are. I feel that anyone brave enough to go up there and sing, no matter what they sound like, is a karaoke superstar! So, that's my philosophy and that's what my show is about - it's about my customers. That's why they like me, I guess. The other thing is I really try not to sing too much. I consider myself a better entertainer/talker/deejay than I am a singer. Don't get me wrong, I can carry a tune at times, but I don't consider myself a great singer - so I let my customers sing as much as they want to; I don't hog the mic, you know.

I do it wed, thurs, fri & sat eves. We have a blast. I like the feeling at the end of the night that a group of people had a lot of fun, and I was able to let them have that "out" and I was able to assist in their enjoying themselves. It's a pretty cool feeling.

Unfortunately, my day job is selling cars, so by the time I get there - I'm usually exhausted, and have to find the energy to be entertaining for my customers.

Are there any KJ's from Minnesota on this site?
