I enjoy singing Karake...I am by no means great at it but it is very fun.  I have a singing machine and the sound quality is just not that great.  When I use the TVs volume (which has better speakers) there is a delay and when I use the Karaokes speakers it sounds muffled.  I was looking into a better system.  A friend has an eight hundred dollar system...too rich for my blood.....but the sound is great!  Does anyone have any suggestions for a solid karaoke system that won't break the bank?

I was pleasantly surprised by a cheap player with a single speaker cabinet that I got from karaoke.com a long time ago. It had the rca connections to connect it to a home system, but even the single speaker was fairly good for a family to enjoy karaoke with!

It was VERY similar to this one from karaoke.com

Now, understand that you ARE getting what you pay for.

How Big is your BANK????

Get yourself a little powered mixer like an
ALESIS Gigamix for about $200 and one 12" Behgringer Speaker for another $150 and if you use your current machine as a player you have a nice home unit for about $350 - You can always pick up just a CDG  player for around $100.
Still well below $800

Check out any pro-audio music store (like guitar center ) or similiar
Once you have your CDG PLAYER your are basically just looking for a Compact PA system.  For home use you can get a great 1 speaker system for under $500.
