Most people that are that off are tone deaf and don't know they are off. They usually don't ask for help. I just try to find the right mix of music volume and vocal volume, so it isn't that irritating. I try to get their voice to be barely heard over the music with some effects and smile.

Babs,

That reminds me of what I have to do for a good friend of mine. He loves singing, but can't. And he doesn't do quiet songs either- Bon Jovi, Guns N Roses, Van Halen, Ozzy, etc. He has literally cleared rooms at some places. I finally found a 'solution'- I raise the music, lower his mic, and raise the monitor speaker. This way he thinks he is loud in the audience, and never knows they can't hear him.....

Have you ever had a person who craves attention and really wants to sing, but can't sing if their life depended on it. So now instead of singing they dance by singers on stage or grab the mic to say something stupid.

How to appease the attention monger nonsinger:

Put on the song Tequila. All they have to do is yell tequila 3 times and everyone in the bar yells with them. They get their 3 minutes of attention and everyones happy.  LMAO

Tequila!  One of my favorites.  I've heard it performed many times at karaoke shows (for those who have to have mic time).  With all the songs I've sung, I avoid it.  I'm afraid I might forget the words!

DBK, you've provided one very good, additional reason for having a monitor.  I'll have to rethink that!

"The Hustle" works well along those lines too: "Do the Hustle"!

Does anyone know of a disk that has both Tequila and The Hustle?
