Yoohoo, Chrystal!.....Are you still around?

Last I heard you needed an internet ready computer........I will have one for you ready to ship free next week.....I just ordered my daughter a new Dell via my employee discount program...her old computer will be available very soon. She only used it to play educational games and no internet, so it is clean and fully functional. It is a factory built HP Pavillion XP783...nothing fancy, but fully functional for basic stuff and internet....no nasty virus or rootkits inside.

If you want it, it will ship as soon as you contact me with shipping addy....It has WinduhsME on it and very little else. I will install free Avast anti-virus too if you want.

Maybe that's my problem, my current OP doesn't communicate well with me. Maybe I should be running Winduhs instead of Windows?

Gosh, the tech guy at the store didn't tell me that, and I'm certain he could tell by just looking that I was a redneck. Dang, but you can't get good customer service anywhere any more.

Ok, system info says...It has a 30GB drive.....700mg Celeron CPU...126 MG Ram.

It is your basic 5-7 year old HP factory computer loaded with whatever they came with back then....I have all the restore discs......Step Daughter inherited it from dead grandmother who surfed net and participated in forums that old women participate in.....Been off line since in my house last several years....I have installed several little girl type educational games on it and the machine has reached the point where latest educational games cause it to bog down.....So I bought her a new Dell for her birthday cause Dell is selling them cheaper than I can build them at the moment.

can you tell if that's PC100 memory, or getting into the DDR? (I honestly doubt that)

I have some extra memory sitting around, if her PC will handle it.

My biggest hurdle is took care of-I can ship it in the Dell box the new computer will show up in......Boxes are always my biggest shipping problem...that, and trying to get to the post office when they are open

Knightshow, I'm glad you mentioned RAM....I might have an extra stick of the right type. If I do, I'll stuff it in before I ship.

Crystal just texted me.   says she will check to see if she can have it shipped to her parent's house when she sees them on saturday.  i'll kee you posted
