Hi Everyone....
I'm a new to this forum and Karaoke......I've noticed that most of my song choices are kind of slow ...... and later in the evening some venues like to dance.
Does anyone have a suggestion for an upbeat song for a female? Seems like the guys have all the best songs. I have a pretty good range but, feel most comfortable with Alto to Mid Soprano.
Thank you for your suggestions.....
Lady Blues

Hi Lady Blues.. You are in my neck of the woods. I'm in Orange County.
I don't think you should shy away from male songs.. those are fun to sing and a female voice really can give 'em a fresh new life! Dive into them!
Welcome to the site! :D

Just because a man was intended to sing a song, don't exclude it from your choices. Listen to some of the song posts on here. If you like a song, sing it. The more YOU like it, the better it will sound. Have fun and sing WHAT EVER you like. Welcome from another site newbeeeeeee.

Hi S, I've been gone for awhile from this site and just read your response. I appreciate your reply.....Do you have a suggestion on a place where my girlfriend and I could go on Saturday nights....OC is fine....I found a place during the week that I like but, she's from San Gabriel Valley and its a bit to far for during the week. We need a Saturday night venue......
Take care,
Lady Blues

Hi Babs, Thank you for your reply...I've been gone for awhile from this site......and just read your post....I like almost all the songs you suggested. Thanks again......
I am fortunate that I like most music genres...but, I like the Blues and Jazz the best...standards and then probably Classic Country.
I did sing a song last week that went over well.....Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire....guess everyone saw the movie "Walk The Line" Movie last year.....
Sincerely, Lady Blues

Hi Echo,
Do you have a particular song usually sang by a man that you like to hear a woman sing? Just wondering? I would like a dance, Rock, upbeat R&B or possibly an upbeat Country song....If I sing country its usually Classic Country like Patsy Cline or Tammy Wynette..... Thanks for the input. I usually sing the Blues or Jazz. But, right now I am so excited about the newness of singing Karaoke.....I want to sing everything!!!!
My Best, Lady Blues........

..Hi, I too, am an alto mid-soprano range and I have done artists like:Sara Evans, Sheri Easter, Olivia Newton John, Marie Osmond, Twila Paris, The Judds, Bette Midler and Julie Miller on the female side. As far as the male vocals, I have done: Michael W. Smith, Colin Raye and Journey. If there is a song out there by a male that you really like and would like to sing it; then I say, "Go for it and have fun doing it". Hope you enjoy yourself on here. - Tonya

Thank you for your input Tonya!!!!! I am familiar with some of the artists you mentioned....not all of them. Sara Evans? Isn't she on Dancing with the Stars right now? She's dancing with Tony...all Latin Dreamboat......enough about him........
What I'd really like to ask you is "Do you have a favorite song right now by a particular artist"? I've been singing the same songs that I am comfortable with but, I really want to add to my repetroire (sp?) Still looking for something that just fits right. I also noticed that when I buy a song, I'm often not happy with how the music is arranged. I've been asking to sample the song before buying. This seems to be saving me money because If I could I'd buy everything... !!!!!
My best to you, Lady K
Just a Beginner ~ and loving every minute of it.....!!!!!!!

Hey, what song are you doing right now that you are really comfortable with? Do you have it submitted on Singers Showcase yet? I have my version of "No Place That Far" by Sara Evans/Vince Gill still posted on SS....go check it out and see if you think you might be able to do it....if you think you can, then I will send you a copy of it via email and let you try it out. While you are checking out that one, feel free to check out all the others I still have posted. - Tonya
I just sent this via a private message :D
