Morgan my ex could out and shoot a squirrel skin it and put it in a pot with a bunch of other stuff and make a meal fit for king.... She also shot 2 bull elk in one day with a 243 lever action... We survived one winter on 2 antelope and one corn fed doe deer... I would cut she would wrap and we would fill up a freezer for the winter...
A gun you can replace but a woman like that is hard to find... Nowadays...
I fit into the same category I think. Did a stint of being in love with a high country farmer. Had to ford the river 8 times to get to the homestead so was 4wd access or helicopter if the river was in flood. No electricity and cooked on an aga which was a full time job in itself to keep running, had to go 24/7 cos it heated the house and the water. I got used to doing my own cutting in the concrete cooler room and got used to having morning tea lunch and afternoon tea on tables at exactly the correct time for the musterers (stockmen at roundup) and shearers.
the day the jerk I was keen on came into the cook house and found me sitting down reading a magazine (everything was on schedule) and told me to get off my fat a rse and sweep the floor was the day I told him he would be happier if he found an anorexic workaholic.
