Jian, any DVD player would have the capability of playing CD-G format correct ? How about CD players ? Are there some older models out that can not, even with correct plug-ins ?
As I recall, this was not originally true, although nowadays it may be for the most part. Only certain dvd players and cd players will play cdg. I believe with Windows XP you also have to have aspi.dll installed.
I have a Dart Cdg Player that is currently working to play cdg's directly from the disk on my computer using the dvd drives.
In the past when I just had a cd player I used free Tricerasoft Cd+g Disc Player
http://www.tricerasoft.com/karaoke_soft ... loads.html. So far this doesn't seem to work with my dvd drives though. I'm sure there is a free player out there that will work with Dvd.
Power cd+g will work with cd players - not sure if it will work with dvd players.
