Another story When we were about 30 We made a 45 foot box kite We were in wheat stubble next to I-25. About 20 of us all drunker than **** We had an old pickup with a rope going about 20 mph And some running trying to hold the kite up and falling on our (@$%!). About the 4th futile pass we had about 50 cars stopped and people watching the show. No we never did get it up....

Ollie, we used to ski in the irigation ditches in California. The rice fields would be tapped into the ditches, and they'd run pretty wide the whole depth of the field. We used an old Ford truck, and we'd hook a tow rope on, while the "skier" held onto the other end and tried to get up on the skis in the ditch. Yeah, usually while drinking too. Stupid, stupid things we did as teenagers and young adults. I guess we were lucky nobody ever got *seriously* hurt. And also lucky that the owners of the fields never caught us..... gosh, we made messes of those field access roads. (they made for good 4 wheeling too) LOL
Oh, and as to the topic: No comment on engineers. You all don't want to hear my opinion. LOL

.[/quote]Baby, there ain't no man better equiped to twist your crank than an engineer...It's instinctive to us....As engineers we instinctively know just what button to push.
While you are correct that most engineers don't want to hear your opinions, you are wrong not to allow one the chance to 'fix' what ails you.
Engineers the world over are accustomed to being "Never wanted, but always needed."...But in spite of that, we are always in high demand.

Okay, lemme give you my "now requested" opinion.
(and I've moved from "sweetcheeks" to "baby" I see..... but, I wont comment on THAT.... cause you're just flat out trouble for me)
Engineers, from my humble experience:
*Think they know everything, and anyone who knows LESS is an eejit. But in truth, they WANT you to be an eejit, god help ya if you're not, cause that makes them appear all the more smarter.
*Side note: I.... didn't say that one could not "twist my crank".... never had one try. Not in "reality" anyhow. I'll have to give it a shot one of these days, so I can form my own opinion on that.
*They usually don't WANT to be "wanted and needed", unless of course, something needs to be "fixed". Other times they have the "go 'way, don't bother me" attitude. They think needing and wanting are sissy things and show weakness.... so you have to be all brave and carefree around them. Unless, again, you honor them with a need to fix something, or give advice. They are always "busy" and have "better, more important things to do".
*In the world of Men vs. Women.... Women ALWAYS play second fiddle to an engineer. Their more important pursuits take precedence, and their woman sits on a shelf until he decides he can spare her a bit of time. And I would never be the type to accept that. Ya see, I don't like playing second fiddle. I gotta be first and everything in someone's eyes, or I just can't handle it. That's kinda blunt, and all personal opinion, but there it is.
*And another thing!! Again, in the "woman has engineer mate" scenario.... They are usually penny pinchers. "No, you don't need 4 new pairs of jeans, those faded ripped ones look good on you, and we can't afford it"....... Then, they go out and buy $5000 worth of new engineer nonsense that they do NOT need. And the little woman isn't allowed to touch it, for fear of contaminating it, or breaking something.
*And, heaven forbid an engineer ever meet a woman smarter than him. That just wouldn't do at all. He'd likely die of humiliation. Engineers are of the old school. Women are fickle creatures to them, women need direction, and a "man" to tell her what to do, and she should "only speak when spoken to".
There, that's my opinion... since ya asked. :D

We did the same thing with car hoods out in the snow. We'd get to whipping around and hit a ditch bank and go airborne and kawump.....We tried it wth horses but theyd kick crap into your eyes and with a fifty foot rope ya had no control.
As far as the man woman and eng relations I am from the old old school. There wasnt any war Man is a man and a gentleman. A woman is a woman and a lady. If the family is hungry you cook If the floor needs mopping you mop. If its milkingtime you milk If the horses needing fed you feed. And it doesnt make any differnence what sex you are you do it. I dont where they come up with all this male female role playing bs. Men have their strengths and women have thier strengths Together they make a team but these social engineers have totally turned everybody upside down. What were we talking about?

I LIKE you Ollie.
You have the right attitude. Sure, I'll go out to the woods and help get a load of firewood..... but then dayum, help me do the dishes when we get back. That's MY way of thinking. :hi5:
Oh yeah, I've heard of the car hood thing in the snow, but never tried that. Hmmmm...... Maybe this winter? hahahaha
I have hooked a rope behind a 3 wheeler on a frozen pond before. Gawd, but that was fun. We weren't on ski's or boards or anything, just our shoes. But the 3 wheeler had a hard enough time not flipping over, and when the person driving went into a spin, the person on the end of the rope went FLYING..... haha, it was fun. A bit dangerous, but fun. And heck, that wasn't too much of my "younger days"... that was our winter of I think 2001.... LOL
