Hi, can anyone help me with this. I have karaoke CD+G burner and I used to be able to write CD+G files on to disk to play in a karaoke player. Now after a fairly serious pc clean up I find that when I burn disks with CD+G burner they come up as CDA disks in my power CD+G player on the pc. I assume that I have lost a codec or some other piece of software that I need to play these tracks.
Any ideas would be gratefuly recieved.

Try using 'Load CD' button -- 'Load File' is for files on a hard disc only. Also make sure that you have proper drive selected in Settings.

These are files on my hard drive and I only have one writer on my system and it automatically detects wether its a cd or dvd in the tray.

CDA is yet another way of seeing audio tracks.

The best advice I can give you is to reinstall your software that you use for burning.

I notice you don't mention which burner, nor the software. It's kinda hard to give you advice without more specific information.

That is pretty acurate.  I happen to have the cdg disc plugin for winamp and when I access it it say .cds after the track number but the graphic plays so it stand to reason if you're access through the file section it would come up that way.

It could be a problem when you ripped the tracks to your H-Driv, that you forgot to select it as a karaoke (CDG) track, or perhaps when you burnt the CDG you fortgot to set it to burn the karaoke subcode.

OR it might be that your burner is not capable of burning a CDG disc.  There are a few out there that can read the karaoke subcode, but can't write it.

Ok, firstly, I have loads of tracks on my pc that are CD+G and are identified as such by the karaoke player on the pc and I can play them and watch the video with the lyrics. I also had been able to write CD+G tracks to disk in the past but for some reason I can no longer do this . When I write a track using Power CD+G burner ( a prog that is apparently made for the job ) the tracks write on the disks as CDA. What I thought had happened was that a codec or some other bit of identifying software had become corrupt or was deleted but I have  re-installed the writer but without success.

Jiroma, the tracks should be CDA -- if you put a CD+G disc in your drive you would also see CDA files. Karaoke player will read the subcodes and display them. Have you tried to play your disc on a karaoke player?

Yes it recognises disks written previousley so it is something to do with the way it is being written now.
